VALENTIN JABE

Valentin Jabe, 85, El Dorado, Kan., formerly of Ottawa, died Thursday, April 18, 2013, in Olathe, Kan.

Cremation is planned with private family services expected at a later date.

He was born Tuesday, Feb. 14, 1928, in Guanajuato, Mexico, the son of Jesus and Concepcion (Delarosa) Jabe.

Valentin lived in El Dorado for the past year, moving from Mulvane, Kan. He previously lived in Ottawa from 1980 to 2008.

He was a lifelong farmer, retiring in 1992.

Valentin was united in marriage with Maria L. Jasso Feb. 14, 1961, in Reynosa, Mexico. She preceded him in death.

Survivors include his daughters, Cindy Bohnert, Orlando, Fla., Maria J. DeSantiago, Plainview, Texas, and Maria C. Lindquist and her husband, Scott, El Dorado, Kan.; Jose J. Jabe, Ottawa, Kan., Jose L. Jabe, Ottawa, Kan., and Jose G. Jabe, Rio Bravo, Mexico; 21 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by wife, Maria L. (Jasso) Jabe; daughter, Maria A. Jabe; son, Jose A. Jabe; grandson, Josue M. Jabe; and parents, Jesus and Concepcion (Delarosa) Jabe.
