Emily Dyanne Schuster and Joshua Thomas Lorg were united in marriage Dec. 6, 2013, at the Hotel Phillips, downtown Kansas City, by Pastor Nathan Miller of Christ Community Church, Olathe Campus.

The bride is the daughter of Paul and Sue Schuster, Lawrence.

The bride is the daughter of Paul and Sue Schuster, Lawrence.

The groom is the son of John and Lori Lorg, Olathe.

Her grandparents are Ruby Schuster and the late Paul Schuster, Garnett; and the late Mr. and Mrs. G.E. Lilly, Ottawa.

His grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Ross Chambliss, Overland Park; and Leo Lorg, Wichita.

Given in marriage by her parents, she was escorted by her father, Paul Schuster to begin the formal early evening ceremony.

Matron of honor was the bride’s friend, Katie Havelka, Springfield, Mo.

Additional bridesmaids were friends of the bride, Jamie Evans, Lenexa, and Jill Miller, Olathe.

Wedding attendants to the bride were the bride’s friends, Beth Blankers, Lincoln, Neb., and Bethany Nesbitt, Prairie Village.

Best man was the groom’s friend, Bryan Haeusser, St. Louis, Mo.

Groomsmen were the groom’s brother, John Ross Lorg, and the groom’s friend, Jordan Hilgers, Denver, Colo.

The bride’s niece, Madison Strawder-Coursen, Burlington, lit candles in memory of grandparents.

Flower girls were the bride’s nieces, Natalie Strawder, Burlington, and Aurora Wilhelm, Edwardsville, Ill.

Ring bearers were the groom’s nephews, Luke and Zachary Nielsen, Mt. Vernon, Wash.

Ushers were the bride’s brother-in-law, Jeremy Aber, Murfreesboro, Tenn., and the groom’s friends, Jeff Givens, Colorado Springs, Colo., Nick Jerkovich, Olathe, and Bill Steinke, Lake Lotawana, Mont.

Scripture was read by the bride’s sister, Amy Harris-Aber.

The bride’s sister, Miranda Wilhelm, the bride’s sister-in-law, Katie Strawder-Schuster, and the groom’s sister, Michelle Nielsen, Wichita, assisted with the children in the bridal party.

The bride wore a dress fashioned by Maggie Sottero, Bronwyn consisting of a lace and tulle slim line gown with V-neckline and cap sleeves, featuring a separate light gold slip gown of Vogue satin. The open back was finished with a row of satin-covered buttons over a zipper closure. Her bridal bouquet was made from hydrangea and light pink spray rose stem with Vendela roses and Queen Anne’s lace. A pearl necklace was woven through the bouquet in remembrance of the bride’s grandmother, Mrs. Doris Lilly. She also wore her mother’s pearls as a bracelet. A flower barrette in her hair was fashioned by the groom’s aunt, Amy Chambliss-Keith.

The reception following the ceremony featured toasts to the bride and groom by their fathers as well as the matron of honor and best man. Both the reception and dance that followed were at the Hotel Phillips. John Canterbury, Merriam, provided music for the evening. Photographer for the evening was Becki Graham of Photographybybecki.

The bride is a graduate of Larned High School, Larned, and the University of Kansas, Lawrence, with a degree in Marketing and International Business. She currently works as office manager at Clinical Psychology Practice LLC in Prairie Village.

The groom is a graduate of Saint Thomas Aquinas High School of Overland Park and the University of Kansas School of Business and Entrepreneurship, Lawrence. He is currently employed as the Microsoft Dynamic Project Lead of ATK, formerly Bushnell, of Overland Park.

The couple enjoyed a honeymoon in San Juan, Puerto Rico, and will make their home in Olathe.
