The 38th annual Harrison family reunion was July 25 at the Ottawa Senior Center.

Co-chairpersons were Dale and Leland Harrison. The family prayer was read in unison followed by a potluck dinner.

Dale Harrison welcomed the group. Shirley Fischer gave the treasurer’s report and read e-mails from Norman Hensley, Mary Ellen Crawford, Carol Staton and Tim Crawford. Family members then introduced themselves.

Helen Bacus, Forest Grove, Ore., was the only death reported since last year’s reunion. Family history updates were passed out and discussed by Kathy Roberts, current family historian.

A collection was taken to cover expenses. It was agreed to have the reunion at the same location on July 24, 2010.

New chairpersons appointed for 2010 were Mike Fischer and Mary Alice Natchez. Duane Harrison was the oldest person in attendance. The youngest and next to youngest were Patrick Harrison and Kyle Monroe, who were presented with gift cards from McDonald’s.

Mike Fischer came the farthest distance. The meeting adjourned and visiting and picture taking followed.

Those who attended included: Dale and Rita Harrison, Choctaw, Okla.; Frank and Mary Natchez, and Lee and Cathy Harrison, all of Topeka; Armand and Jo Ann Harrison, Stilwell; Bob and Sharon Harrison, Gardner; Greg, Michelle and Patrick Harrison, and Kyle Monroe, all of Wichita; Nathalee and Don Linden, and Ronnie Wikle, all of Overbrook; Kathy Roberts, Beloit; Mike Fischer, Boise, Idaho; Heidi Fischer, Lincoln, Neb; and Duane Harrison and Shirley Fischer, both of Ottawa.
