Schools’ nutrition officials recognized

Two local school nutrition professionals have received distinction in the state of Kansas.

Marsha Alexander, who works in the West Franklin district, and Peggy Inglehart, who works in Wellsville, recently participated in the Child Nutrition Management Academy sponsored by Child Nutrition & Wellness, Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE). Both women have achieved the Certified Child Nutrition Manager I distinction for completing 60 hours of the training. The department commended both women in a press release for their dedication to child nutrition programs and professional development.

The Child Nutrition Management Academy is a professional development program for current and aspiring school nutrition managers and directors. The goal of the academy is to develop knowledgeable and effective managers who are prepared to lead their programs to excellence. It is a recognition program sponsored by Child Nutrition and Wellness at the department of education.
