Ethel Wallace, director at the Franklin County Juvenile Detention Center, 226 S. Beech St., Ottawa, had her first court appearance Jan. 14 to set a trial hearing in her pending DUI case. The case was continued to Feb. 18 after she filed for diversion, officials at the Douglas County Clerk’s Office said.

Wallace was arrested 2:58 p.m. Nov. 16 on K-10 on suspicion of “driving while intoxicated,” according to a Douglas County Sheriff’s booking report.

She was released later that evening after her bail of $250 was posted, the report said. Her first court appearance was Dec. 2, where she pled not guilty.

Details of the diversion agreement were not available and the Douglas County District Attorney’s Office could not comment.
