Candidates file for open offices

A few Franklin County community members already formally have filed for county and city commission seats up for re-election in 2014.

Three Franklin County Board of Commission seats are open this year including the 4th District seat, currently held by board chairman Steve Harris; the 5th District seat held by Don Stottlemire; and the 1st District seat held by board vice chairman Colton Waymire.

A few Franklin County community members already formally have filed for county and city commission seats up for re-election in 2014.

Three Franklin County Board of Commission seats are open this year including the 4th District seat, currently held by board chairman Steve Harris; the 5th District seat held by Don Stottlemire; and the 1st District seat held by board vice chairman Colton Waymire.

Harris is the only commissioner to formally file for re-election in 2014, Janet Paddock, Franklin County clerk, said this week, but Waymire previously said he intended to run for re-election.

Three Pomona City Council seats held currently by Rick Smith, Dan Keith and Richard Adler are up for re-election in 2014. According to Paddock, Jerry Slavens, Billy Lloyd, Rick Smith, Richard Adler and Dan Keith have formally filed for the 2014 election.

The state and county primary election is set for August 2014 with the general election in November 2014.
