Pomona park plans open house

Pomona State Park is expected Saturday to participate in statewide open house festivities at Kansas parks.

The park, along with all other state parks, will offer free entrance Saturday, as well as family events. Among the activities planned at the Pomona park are disc golf, a scavenger hunt and a personal watercraft simulator. An Easter egg hunt is planned for 1 p.m. Saturday. Food vendors are expected to be on site, and the Lighthouse Bay Marina will be open.

While at the park, users may take advantage of low off-season camping permit prices. March 31 is the final day camping permits are priced at off-season discounts. The prices increase April 1 to their regular prime-season levels.

Park office hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. for permit sales. Cabin tours are planned for 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.
