RICHMOND — A Richmond High School graduate and Anderson County historian, Dorothy (Kipper) Lickteig will share some of her experiences of historical researching and writing at the Richmond Community Museum’s annual meeting 7 p.m. Monday at the museum, 119 E. Central Ave., Richmond.

Lickteig will focus on historical events in the Scipio area and recent finds at a West Scipio farm.

She recently retired after serving 21 years as president of the Anderson County Historical Society.

Richmond Community Museum members said the newly redecorated museum features some new display cases and artifacts, along with new carpeting.

On display for the first time will be the World War II medals, including a German Prisoner of War medal, that belonged to Leon Akin, the only known POW from the Richmond area.

All who are interested are encouraged to attend, Mary Tooley, museum board president, said.
