Two arrested after drug raid

A 24-year-old Ottawa man was arrested Thursday during a drug raid at the Knights Inn, 1641 S. Main St., Ottawa.

The Franklin County Drug Enforcement Unit issued a search warrant Thursday at the room in which Anthony Martinez was staying, Rick Geist, Franklin County undersheriff, said.

The Franklin County Drug Enforcement Unit issued a search warrant Thursday at the room in which Anthony Martinez was staying, Rick Geist, Franklin County undersheriff, said.

Martinez was arrested and charged with possession of methamphetamine, intent to distribute and possession of drug paraphernalia, Geist said.

During the search, 21-year-old Sherry Ferguson also was arrested on a City of Ottawa warrant, but was not charged with any drug-related crimes, Geist said.

The raid came amid an ongoing Franklin County Drug Enforcement Unit investigation, Geist said. The investigation remains ongoing.

Martinez was released from the Franklin County Adult Detention Center, 305 S. Main St., Ottawa, after paying his $10,000 bond and is set to appear in Franklin County district court 10 a.m. March 24. Ferguson remained in custody Monday.
