Child hit by vehicle near Dairy Queen

A 2-year-old Pomona child escaped serious injury when the youth was struck by a vehicle about 1:15 p.m. Thursday in the Dairy Queen parking lot at 15th and Main streets in Ottawa, according to an Ottawa police report. Police did not identify the child’s gender.

A vehicle driven by Daniel Oglesby, 50, Ottawa, was backing out of a parking stall when it struck the child, the report said.

“The child ended up under the vehicle but only suffered minor injuries,” Capt. Adam Weingartner, with the Ottawa Police Department, said.

No citations were issued, the report said.
