Legislative work to delay Ottawa coffee event

An Ottawa gathering with legislators set for Saturday has been postponed.
With the Legislature planning to work late Friday and possibly into Saturday, John Coen said, lawmakers representing Franklin County likely would be unavailable for Saturday morning’s scheduled legislative coffee, organized by the Ottawa Area Chamber of Commerce, at Ottawa City Hall.
Such bills as a contentious school funding fix being considered at the Capitol have complicated the legislators’ ability to wrap up this portion of the session, Coen, Ottawa Area Chamber of Commerce president and CEO, said Thursday afternoon.
The Chamber hopes to reschedule the legislative coffee, Coen said, which was set to include questions with and comments from state Reps. Blaine Finch, R-Ottawa, and Kevin Jones, R-Wellsville, as well as state Sen. Caryn Tyson, R-Parker.
