“The BB gun was stored in the closet of a room that was normally locked, but an older sibling was in the room at the time,” Capt. Adam Weingartner, with the Ottawa Police Department, said Monday.

Police ruled the incident an accident.

No criminal charges were to be filed in the case, Weingartner said.
