WELLSVILLE — Dave Rogers is back.

The former Wellsville City Council member was appointed to the governing body during its Wednesday meeting to fill a position vacated by Travis Jones, who resigned March 26 because his family was moving, he said. The council voted 4-0 to approve Rogers’ appointment.

Rogers will serve the remainder of Jones’ term, which will be about three years, Bill Lytle, Wellsville mayor, said. Rogers previously served on the council from 2008 to 2012.

“I’m just looking forward to responsible growth in Wellsville,” Rogers said.

Former council members Harold Taylor and Marvin Hutchinson also had expressed interest in the position, Lytle said at Wednesday’s meeting.
