“I’m not running for anything,” Dole, who campaigned in 1996 as the Republican presidential candidate against incumbent Democrat Bill Clinton, said. “I just want to see old friends and meet new ones, regardless of party. I am looking forward to visiting with everyone and being back in my home state of Kansas.”

Fluke said Dole’s visit will be an excellent opportunity to meet a legend of Kansas politics.

“Everybody’s welcome who wants to come,” Fluke said. “It will be a reception type thing and kind of thank you and nice to meet you. It’s kind of a meet and great and for him to tell everybody thank you for supporting him through the years.”
