Fire damages empty Ottawa home

A fire caused minor damage to an unoccupied mobile home Saturday night in Ottawa.

Ottawa firefighters were called 10:50 p.m. Saturday to a fire at 1332 N. Sycamore St. where they found flames on the exterior of a mobile home, according to a fire department report. The fire, which filled the home with smoke, caused an estimated $500 damage to the unoccupied property, Jeff Carner, Ottawa fire chief, said in a report.

Firefighters extinguished the fire and removed smoke from the residence, Carner said.
