POMONA — An Ottawa man was killed in a two-vehicle, head-on wreck about 6:35 a.m. Wednesday on K-68, near the railroad crossing about 3 miles east of Pomona.
Troy Lewis, 44, was traveling westbound on K-68 in a Jeep Grand Cherokee when his Jeep drifted into the eastbound lane and collided head-on with an eastbound Ford F-150 pickup.
The driver of the Ford was a Franklin County man. His condition was unknown Wednesday, Lt. Curtis Hall, with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, said. He was transported to Overland Park Regional Medical Center.
The Franklin County Crash Team was conducting an investigation midday Wednesday. K-68 remained closed to through traffic between Georgia and Idaho roads until the investigation is completed, a press release from the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office said.
The Jeep was “absolutely totaled,” Hall said.
