TOPEKA — Gov. Sam Brownback has ordered flags lowered Friday in honor of a former legislator who died April 18 in a plane crash near Hillsboro.
Flags are to be flown at half-staff Friday from sun-up to sun-down throughout the state to recognize the death of former state Rep. Don Dahl. A celebration of life is planned for Friday at Hillsboro Mennonite Brethren Church.
“Don Dahl’s entire career was dedicated to service to this nation and to our state,” Brownback said. “His lifelong legacy is one of commitment to his country and to his friends and family.”
Dahl served in the House from 1997 through 2008, spending his last two years as speaker pro-tem, and was a member of the Kansas Supreme Court Nominating Commission.
