GOP picks Apple’s Senate successor

TOPEKA — Pat Apple is out. Molly Baumgardner is in.

The Kansas Senate has its newest member this week after state Sen. Apple, R-Louisburg, stepped down last month to take a position on the Kansas Corporation Committee. Republicans selected Baumgardner to succeed Apple, according to the Associated Press.

The Kansas Senate has its newest member this week after state Sen. Apple, R-Louisburg, stepped down last month to take a position on the Kansas Corporation Committee. Republicans selected Baumgardner to succeed Apple, according to the Associated Press.

Baumgardner, R-Louisburg, is a former member of Johnson County Community College’s elected Board of Trustees and a former teacher and debate coach at Louisburg High School.

Apple previously represented portions of Franklin County before redistricting in 2012.
