GARNETT — It’s been a decade, but country music will continue to grow at Cornstock in Anderson County.

The annual fall corn festival recently announced the lineup for this year’s concert, which includes tunes from a Kansas native mixed in with Texas “Red Dirt” music. Jerrod Niemann is set to headline the Sept. 27 Concert on the Hill event in Garnett.

Niemann — whose country music hits include “Lover, Lover,” “Only God Could Love You More,” “One More Drinkin’ Song,” and “What Do You Want” — was born in Harper and raised in nearby Liberal. His latest album, “High Noon,” was released March 25 and features the single “Drink to That All Night.”

The concert also is expected to include special guests Casey Donahew Band and regional favorite Travis Martin.

“We are excited to bring a popular country music star and yet a good ol’ Kansas boy to the Cornstock concert stage as we celebrate 10 years of corn, music and fun,” Gina Witherspoon, Anderson County Corn Festival president, said.

The Casey Donahew Band is known for its “Red Dirt” and “Texas Country” music. More than 10,000 fans were in attendance for the band’s performance at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo in February, according to a news release, and the band has played more than 200 dates a year at state fairs, rodeos, dance halls and festivals. Their song include “Double-Wide Dream,” “Nowhere Fast,” “One Star Flag,” “Whiskey Baby” and, their latest release, “Small Town Love.”

Travis Martin returns to the Cornstock stage to open this year’s concert by popular demand, festival organizers said. He has shared the stage with Jerrod Niemann in the past, as well as country music stars Luke Bryan, Blake Shelton, John Rich, Lee Brice, Little Big Town, Craig Morgan, Clay Walker, the Eli Young Band, Florida Georgia Line, The Band Perry and several others. His latest singles are “Typically Taken” and “Someday.” A new album is expected soon.

Concert tickets are on sale now.

Other events planned for this year’s Anderson County Corn Festival include a community breakfast, 5K run/walk, Miss and Little Miss Cornstock pageant, the Great Kansas Outdoor Fun Show featuring exhibits on boating, fishing, hunting and camping, Cornstock’s Got Talent talent show, a petting zoo, inflatable rides, the Corn Dog Doxie Derby and a corn hole tournament.
