Signatures bring new law count to 99

TOPEKA — Gov. Sam Brownback signed three bills into law Wednesday, bringing the number of new laws for the 2014 legislative session to 99.

The following is a list of the new laws and how the Franklin County delegation — state Reps. Blaine Finch, R-Ottawa, and Kevin Jones, R-Wellsville, along with state Sen. Caryn Tyson, R-Parker — voted:

House Bill 2480 — Repeals an expired telecommunications relegation statute. [Finch Y; Jones Y; Tyson Y]

House Bill 2433 — Increases penalties for intentional violation of the Kansas Uniform Securities Act where the victim is an elder person. [Finch Y; Jones Y; Tyson Y]

House Bill 2130 – Election law amendments, including new definition of “petition circulator.” [Finch Y; Jones Y; Tyson Y]
