Police planning to pop park peeker

Law enforcement officials in the area continued to be on the lookout Friday for a man who apparently was spying on people using a portable restroom Wednesday evening at Orlis Cox Sports Complex, Beech Street and West K-68.

A person using a portable restroom about 8:20 p.m. Wednesday at the sports complex discovered someone had made a peephole between two connected portable restrooms, according to an Ottawa Police Department news release. The person saw a man looking through the peephole into the portable restroom and yelled at the man, who ran from the restroom to a vehicle in the parking lot and fled, police said.

The person saw a man looking through the peephole into the portable restroom and yelled at the man, who ran from the restroom to a vehicle in the parking lot and fled, police said.

The man was described as white and in his 40s, with light blond hair and glasses, the report said. The person fled the area in a gold or tan 1980s model sedan, possibly a Chrysler New Yorker or Oldsmobile, police said.

Recreational sports teams were practicing at the sports complex and the park was busy with many people in the area when the incident occurred, police said.
