Today in History May 1913

• Through the Civic Improvement Club and the Franklin County commissioners, the ladies’ clubs and aid societies of Ottawa have made possible the much talked of rest room. This room in the basement of the courthouse will be opened May 17.

• The property which has been held under the charge of A.C. Battelle and constituting the Fairview golf club, will be placed in the hands of a corporation and will probably be transferred in a few days from Mr. Battelle to this corporation with the payment of the sum of the capital stock to Mr. Battelle to serve as a remuneration for part of the money he has put into the grounds and the buildings on the splendid links just east of Ottawa on Logan Street.
