Fergusons lead Ottawa track teams

BALDWIN CITY — The Ottawa High School track teams scored in 11 events and won three Thursday in the Frontier League meet in Baldwin City.

The boys finished fifth with 51.5 points and the girls were seventh with 33 points.

The Cyclones were paced by the Ferguson siblings. Brynn Ferguson won the girls long jump for her first league title.

Kord Ferguson repeated as shot put and discus champion and set a meet record in both events.

Ottawa competes Friday in the 4A regional at Louisburg.

Girls

Pole vault — 3, Houston, 7-0; 6, Huskey, 6-0.

Long jump — 1, Ferguson, 15-2.5; 3, Natt, 15-1.

Triple jump — 2, Natt, 31-3.5.

Javelin — 6, Carswell, 108-5.

Boys

High jump — 4, Hill, 6-0.

Shot put — 1, Ferguson, 60-4.5 (meet record); 2, Peoples, 52-3; 4, Wright, 47-11.

Discus — 1, Ferguson, 195-8 (meet record); 5, C. Reed, 134-8.

1,600 — 6, Skoog, 4:56.

400 — 6, Kinn, 55.66.

800 — 4, Miller, 1:59.55.

3,200 — 6, Skoog, 11:07.
