Citywide cleanup set for early June

Ottawa residents will have the opportunity to spruce up their properties as part of a citywide cleanup weekend June 6-7.

The city will make dumpsters available 9 a.m. Friday through 3 p.m. Saturday at the following locations:

The city will make dumpsters available 9 a.m. Friday through 3 p.m. Saturday at the following locations:

• Roadside Park, south of 17th Street on the west side of U.S. 59.

• Antique Mall parking lot, 300 block of Walnut Street, Ottawa.

• Salt storage shed, 1300 block of North Cherry Street, Ottawa.

Tires and brush are acceptable, but no batteries or liquids are allowed in the dumpsters, according to a city news release. The ban on liquids in the dumpsters includes paint, which can be disposed of from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Franklin County Recycling Center, 2039 S. Elm St., Ottawa, the release said. The recycling center will accept a maximum of 10 gallons per customer from Franklin County residents, the release said.
