Summer camps set for Ottawa

Summer is work time for many high school athletes. The Ottawa High School summer conditioning/camp schedule runs throughout the summer.

Summer is work time for many high school athletes. The Ottawa High School summer conditioning/camp schedule runs throughout the summer.

The schedule for the sports:

Weights: The summer weights/conditioning runs June 9 through Aug. 17. It is Monday through Thursday from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. each day.

Football: The Cyclone football team camp runs June 2 through June 5 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. each day at the practice field.

Volleyball: The OHS volleyball team weights/conditioning starts June 2 from 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. Gym workout starts June 2 and runs 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. The summer league matches are on Tuesdays.

The team and youth camps run June 23 through June 26. The OHS team camp is 8 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. Elementary grades 3-5 camp is 10:30 a.m. to noon. The middle school session runs 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

Cross Country: The cross country summer conditioning starts June 30 for grades 7-12. The runners meet in the OHS south parking lot at 6:30 a.m. Monday through Saturday.

Basketball: The OHS girls team camp is June 2 through June 6. Varsity runs 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. and junior varsity/freshmen, 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The OHS boys team camp runs June 16 through June 19 from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m.

The boys and girls youth basketball camps run the week of June 9 through June 12. Grades 3-5 camp is at 8:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. The middle school camp is 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Soccer: The boys and girls team camps are June 2 through June 6 from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.

The summer kickarounds will be on Mondays and Wednesdays, starting at 5:45 p.m.
