Leawood man drowns at Hillsdale

HILLSDALE LAKE — Authorities have identified a 45-year-old Leawood man who drowned Saturday in Hillsdale Lake as Mark Selbee, according to media reports.

A boater, who found two of Selbee’s children alone in a boat on the lake Saturday afternoon, said they told him their father jumped into the water and never surfaced, the news reports said.

Searchers, using sonar, located Selbee’s body about 27 hours later, according to news accounts.
