Ethics claim filed against Kobach foe

TOPEKA — The Kansas GOP announced Tuesday it filed an ethics complaint against Jean Schodorf, the Democrat challenger to incumbent Secretary of State Kris Kobach.

The group alleged Schodorf’s campaign solicited political contributions from lobbyists during the legislative session via social media. The Kansas Ethics Commission decided May 28 the allegations warrant a full investigation.

“Looks like someone is not tending to the store at the Schodorf campaign and allowed this illegal activity to go on for several weeks,” Clay Barker, Kansas Republican Party executive director, said.
