A second group of tractors plans to leave 10 a.m. and travel at a minimum of 11 mph. Ken Froggate, event organizer, said it is about a 27-mile trip to Appanoose and back. Appanoose is located in Franklin County about 18 miles northwest of Ottawa.

To reserve a spot in the race, call Froggate at (785) 418-5999. A registration fee applies.

“[People] seem to enjoy it,” Froggate said. “There is typically 25 to 50 tractors that go on the ride.”

A 40-person tram is expected to be provided to accommodate riders who don’t have a tractor.
