Vote canvass affirms election results

An official vote canvass of the mail-in ballot elections for the West Franklin and Central Heights schools produced no surprises.

Monday’s canvass by the Franklin County Clerk’s Office and the Board of Commissioners finalized the vote counts in the June 4 bond issue elections.

Monday’s canvass by the Franklin County Clerk’s Office and the Board of Commissioners finalized the vote counts in the June 4 bond issue elections.

For West Franklin, the district’s bond issue failed 1,359-569, with 70.03 percent of the 1,918 voters issuing “no” votes.

In the Central Heights election, the district’s bond was approved 471-350, with 57.36 percent of the 821 voters giving “yes” votes.
