Dick worked at two community newspapers as a summer intern during his collegiate career. He worked for the Kingman Leader Courier during the summer of 2010 and the Winfield Daily Courier in the summer of 2011, covering community events in writing and photography.

While in college, Dick also gained experience in radio as an on-air talent for the campus radio station KSWC 100.3 The Jinx, and as a production assistant at 1025 The River in Arkansas City.

A Spivey native, he graduated in May 2009 from Kingman High School.

Dick said he is excited about the opportunity to report for The Herald and learn about the community and its historic ties.

In another Herald staff change, reporter Abby Crosthwait recently was married. Her byline now reflects her new surname, Eckel.
