Jayhawker Days back

WILLIAMSBURG — Representing a small town with a big heart, Jayhawker Days is set to return this weekend.

The annual summer festival begins 5 p.m. Friday with an ice cream social, local entertainment and a Fish Fry cookout.

The annual summer festival begins 5 p.m. Friday with an ice cream social, local entertainment and a Fish Fry cookout.

The event continues Saturday, beginning with a 7 a.m. pancake breakfast in the Williamsburg Community Building, 126 W. William St., Williamsburg, and a 7:30 a.m. 5K race through town. A petting zoo will be open all day, as well as a quilt show and book sale in the community building.

In the evening, the Small Town Big Heart parade is set to begin at 5 p.m., featuring the Patriot Guard and veteran floats.

The day’s activities are expected to come to a close with a dance on the tennis court in the park.
