Condition unknown after K-68 wreck

The condition of a Franklin County man injured in a two-vehicle wreck Monday afternoon 10 miles east of Ottawa remained unknown Wednesday afternoon, authorities said.

A Ford pickup with Franklin County plates was eastbound on K-68 when it slowed to turn left onto K-33 and was struck in the rear by a van with Missouri plates, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s office.

A Ford pickup with Franklin County plates was eastbound on K-68 when it slowed to turn left onto K-33 and was struck in the rear by a van with Missouri plates, according to the Franklin County Sheriff’s office.

Both drivers sustained minor injuries, although the driver of the van declined medical attention, the sheriff’s office said.

The driver of the pickup complained of neck pains and was transported by ambulance to Ransom Memorial Hospital, 1301 S. Main St., Ottawa, Jeff Richards, Franklin County sheriff, said.

The sheriff’s office had not released the drivers’ names Wednesday afternoon.
