State no longer charging for driver’s license handbooks

Effective Monday — July 1 — the Kansas Department of Revenue is eliminating the fee to purchase driver’s license handbook at driver licensing stations throughout the state.

The handbook, which outlines the Kansas’ rules of the road and includes information about applying for a driver’s license, previously came at a $1 cost.
