CARSTAR expanding to spot at busy intersection

By DYLAN LYSEN, Herald Staff Writer | 7/9/2014

Ottawa’s CARSTAR has outgrown its current space, Lou Baker, co-owner, said.

The business, now at 107 N. Main St., is expected to soon move to the former Advantage Ford location at 402 N. Main St., she said.

The new location will offer more space for the company that provides auto body repair services, Baker said.

“It’s a better location and there’s more room for our growing business,” Baker said. “We’ve outgrown this location.”

Enterprise Rent-A-Car, which currently is housed with CARSTAR, also will make the move, Baker said. At the moment, no other businesses are slated to join them at the new site, she said.

Lou and her husband, Jeff Baker, co-owner, hope to open the business’ new location by early next month, she said, but the two expect it might take a little longer.

“Nothing is set, but we would like to be there the first part of August,” Lou Baker said. “I guess by mid-August we will be there.”

Advantage Ford moved from the North Main Street location in November 2013 to a newly built, larger dealership at 2320 S. Oak St., Ottawa. The property had remained vacant since then.
