‘Night Out’ events Tuesday

Ottawa criminals won’t be able to hide in the dark next week when the city participates in a national event to fight crime.

The City of Ottawa plans to participate in National Night Out 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

The City of Ottawa plans to participate in National Night Out 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Tuesday.

The event covers 16 street blocks in Ottawa, consisting of about 600 city residents, Ron Hughes, volunteer coordinator, said in an email.

Locations and organizers for Night Out events include: 701 S. Poplar, Cindy McCullough; 634 S. Oak, Sharon Geiss; 940 S. Cedar, Rita Nienstedt; 627 Maple, Michell Corbett; 1300 Block Redbud, Sara Caylor; 1300 Block Pine, Wynndee Lee; Canterbury Court, Spencer; 900 Block S. Sycamore, Meg Dickinson; 800 Block S. Hickory, Rita Nienstedt; 808 E. 16th St. Terr, Barbara Netherland; 1246 S. Hickory, Jessica Christoper; 1722 S. Chestnut, Jenise Hepner; 1644 S. Chestnut, Betty Birzer; 504 S. Elm, Gayle Norris; 900 Block North Birch, David Brooks; and 618 N. Spruce, Michelle Richards.
