Details scarce after young man reportedly hit by vehicle in Ottawa

A young man was carted off on a stretcher Monday morning at the scene of a reported wreck in Ottawa.

Ottawa police officers, firefighters, Franklin County sheriff’s deputies and Franklin County Emergency Medical Services personnel responded to a report of a vehicle-versus-pedestrian wreck at 9:35 a.m. Monday at Sixth and Hickory streets in Ottawa.

Ottawa police officers, firefighters, Franklin County sheriff’s deputies and Franklin County Emergency Medical Services personnel responded to a report of a vehicle-versus-pedestrian wreck at 9:35 a.m. Monday at Sixth and Hickory streets in Ottawa.

The man was transported by ambulance to an unknown hospital. As of Monday evening, police had not released the names of the victim or the driver, nor details about the incident.

The incident is still under investigation, Capt. Adam Weingartner, with the Ottawa Police Department, said Monday afternoon.
