Lane Fair returns, beginning today

LANE — Fair season continues in Franklin County.

Running today through Saturday, the 122nd Lane Agricultural Fair, 600 E. Third St., Lane, begins tonight with karaoke and a talent show. Another big event — a 7:30 p.m. Friday parade — is set to feature local veterans as grand marshals. Any local veterans are welcome to ride on the grand marshal float, according to fair organizers. The Atomic Possum Band is set to play after the parade.

Other events slated for the fair include a peewee rodeo, mutton bustin’, and the horseshoe pitching contest on Friday and a horse show, greased pig contest, three-on-three basketball tournament and pedal tractor pull in the morning Saturday with the cowboy olympics and pony pull in the afternoon. The Silver Bullet Band is set to play Saturday night.
