A Kramer Pharmacy delivery vehicle made an unscheduled detour late Thursday afternoon when the vehicle was reportedly stolen in the 1500 block of South Cedar Street, according to police scanner traffic.
An unknown suspect took the Ottawa-based pharmacy’s 2009 black 4-door Hyundai Accent delivery car shortly after 4 p.m. Thursday, which reportedly was left idling with the doors unlocked during a delivery stop.
Ottawa police said they located the vehicle about 4:50 p.m., abandoned and concealed in some brush, in the 1600 block of South Cedar Street. The sedan was reported to have been delivering prescription drugs, including some that contained narcotics, to customers of Kramer Pharmacy, 134 S. Main St., Ottawa, when it was stolen. It was unclear if those drugs had been recovered with the stolen vehicle.
A tow truck was reportedly being called to the scene about 5:30 p.m. Thursday to remove the car from the brush.
