I-35 bridge work starts Wednesday

By The Herald Staff | 8/16/2013

An interstate highway bridge on the outskirts of the county is set for resurfacing work beginning Wednesday.

The northbound I-35 bridge over Tequa Creek in Franklin County — one mile east of the Franklin-Osage county line — is set for work Wednesday, the Kansas Department of Transportation said Friday.

The bridge deck is set to be milled and then resurfaced with a silica fume overlay, KDOT said. Northbound I-35 traffic is expected to be reduced to one lane with a 55 mph speed limit in the work zone. The bridge project should be finished by late October.
