A free legal service offered through the East Central Kansas Area Agency on Aging now is available on the first Tuesday of the month.

The change, which takes effect Oct. 1, applies to Kansas Legal Services offered at the agency’s Ottawa office, 117 S. Main St. The service is available to individuals in Coffey, Franklin, Linn, Miami and Osage counties who are 60 and older. Appointments can be made by calling (785) 242-7200 or (800) 633-5621.

The program is funded through the Older Americans Act, though donations are welcome.
