A 50-year-old Ottawa man was involved in a three-car pile up Wednesday morning on I-35 in Johnson County.

A 2012 GMC van driven by Michael Thuro, Ottawa, was northbound on I-35 about 7 a.m. near the I-35 and Antioch Road interchange in Merriam when the van struck the back of a 2009 Honda driven by Mark Friel, 41, Olathe, who had slowed for congested traffic, according to a Kanas Highway Patrol report.
