A 39-year-old Vassar woman suffered serious injuries when the black, two-door Ford Explorer she was driving crashed into a ravine about 11 a.m. Thursday on Labette Road, about 4 miles west of Ottawa, Lt. Curtis Hall, with the Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, said.
Jamette Streeter was driving the Explorer westbound on Labette Road when it left the roadway and rolled into the deep ditch, ejecting her from the vehicle, Hall said. The sport utility vehicle came to rest on its wheels near the edge of a field in the rolling countryside.
Streeter was taken by Franklin County ambulance to a Kansas City-area hospital with serious injuries, Hall said. Her condition was unknown Thursday afternoon.
