Police Department Arrests

• 9:07 a.m. Monday, 100 block of East Logan Street, Robert Reed, 37, Ottawa, on suspicion of domestic battery.

• 1:54 p.m. Monday, Walmart Supercenter, 2101 S. Princeton St., Braunda Crusha, 50, Ottawa, on suspicion of theft and criminal trespassing.

• 11:54 p.m. Monday, 800 block of South Oak Street, Dean Morales, 21, Cape Coral, Fla., on suspicion of possession of marijuana, and Christopher Stuart, 20, San Antonio, on suspicion of possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.

• 7:50 p.m. Tuesday, Canterbury Court, Nathan Cunningham, 26, Ottawa, on a City of Ottawa warrant.

• 9:24 p.m. Tuesday, 2600 block of I-35, Alonzo Quintenilla, 53, Kansas City, Kan., on suspicion of driving while suspended.

• 2:31 a.m. Wednesday, 2600 I-35, Jose Esparza, 39, Kansas City, Kan., on suspicion of driving while suspended.

Incidents

• 5:40 p.m. Monday, Vermont Terrace and Virginia Road, a silver 1992 Toyota 4Runner driven by Jody Rayl, 44, Osawatomie, was traveling south in the 1000 block of Virginia Road when the vehicle caught on fire, according to a sheriff’s report. No one was injured, and damage was estimated at more than $1,000, the report said.

Thefts

• 5:08 p.m. Monday, Bones Transportation, 2643 Kingman Road, a company employee reported a semi and trailer were stolen. The employee reported the rig was taken but the driver, who lives in Oklahoma, was at home, according to a sheriff’s report. The information was forwarded to the Collinsville, Okla., Police Department, the sheriff’s report said.

Incidents

• 10:46 a.m. Monday, 700 block of West Second Street, a 53-year-old Ottawa woman reported she was raped by a known suspect. The case is under investigation.

• 10:58 a.m. Monday, Ottawa Middle School, 1230 S. Ash St., a school official reported a 13-year-old Pomona boy was battered by a known 13-year-old Ottawa boy.

Thefts

• 4:25 p.m. Tuesday, 500 block of North Cherry Street, a 59-year-old Ottawa man reported the theft of utilities and damage to city property.

• 4:37 p.m. Tuesday, 400 block of East 15th Street, a 34-year-old Ottawa woman reported the theft of items from her residence.

• 2:33 a.m. Wednesday, Orscheln Farm and Home, 2008 S. Princeton St., a 59-year-old Ottawa man reported a trailer was stolen from the store.

Accidents

• 10:52 a.m. Monday, 200 block of East Fourth Street, a vehicle driven by Elizabeth Reusch, 57, Ottawa, backed into a vehicle driven by Paul Kennicott, 66, Ottawa. Reusch was cited for inattentive driving.

• 8:12 p.m. Tuesday, Ottawa High School, 1120 S. Ash St., Doug Waterman, 48, Ottawa, reported his vehicle was struck by an unknown vehicle in the OHS parking lot.

Wellsville Police Department News

• Monday: 200 block of Benton Drive, natural gas fire; 100 block of West Fourth Street, animal complaint; 300 block of Douglas Street, assist outside agency; I-35 at milepost 198, motorist assist; 400 block of Main Street, motorist assist.

• Tuesday: 4300 block of Utah Road, assist outside agency; I-35 at milepost 198, motorist assist.

Fire Calls

Ottawa Fire Department

• 7:35 a.m. Monday, 1213 S. College St., smoke detector activation. No fire reported.

• 10:06 a.m. Monday, 832 E. Hamblin St., firefighters investigated a possible natural gas leak.

• Firefighters assisted with seven medical calls Monday and Tuesday.

Franklin County Fire Departments

• 5:41 p.m. Monday, Vermont Terrace and Virginia Road, Pottawatomie firefighters responded to a vehicle fire.

• Firefighters responded to one medical call Monday.
