Governor orders flags lowered

TOPEKA — Gov. Sam Brownback has ordered flags to be flown at half-staff from sun-up to sun-down Sunday in honor of the National Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service.

“Firefighters perform acts of heroism every single day and some have made the ultimate sacrifice for our communities,” Brownback said. “They deserve our respect and recognition.”
