Open enrollment for 2014 Medicare Part D is Oct. 15 to Dec. 7. All plans become effective Jan. 1.

“Everyone should have a plan comparison done as there will be plans that were bought out for 2014 by different companies, several who will have changed their plan name, several that may no longer be providing Medicare D plans and several that will be new,” the aging agency said in a press release.

Medicare beneficiaries are urged to call to make an appointment and get a worksheet before the outreach events. Call Leslea Rockers at the agency’s Ottawa office at (785) 242-7200 or (800) 633-5621.
