Ottawa police looking for flasher who exposed himself to teen

Law enforcement officers continued to look Monday afternoon for a man who exposed himself to a teenage girl and fled on foot Sunday evening on Ottawa’s south side, an Ottawa Police Department official said.

A 16-year-old girl reported an unidentified white man exposed himself to her about 6:25 p.m. while she was walking in the 900 block of South Willow Street, Ottawa police said. The girl told police the suspect then ran west on West Ninth Street,

Responding officers found no sign of the man who was described to be between 40 and 50 years old, 5 feet 8 inches to 6 feet tall and weighing about 200 pounds. He was wearing a dark colored ball cap, faded blue T-shirt with faded letters on the front, gray shorts that hung slightly below the knee and white tennis shoes, according to an Ottawa Police Department news release.

Franklin County Crime Stoppers Inc. on Monday heightened awareness of the incident by designating it as the “Crime of the Week.”
