Local blood drives planned

To combat a rising local need for blood, two donation drives are planned next week in Franklin County.

The Community Blood Center said it must collect at least 580 pints of blood every day to meet area needs. And just one donation can help as many as two local hospital patients.

The Community Blood Center said it must collect at least 580 pints of blood every day to meet area needs. And just one donation can help as many as two local hospital patients.

Local drives to get the center closer to its goal include:

• 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. Monday at Ransom Memorial Hospital, conference room, 1301 S. Main St., Ottawa. To make an appointment online, go to www.esavealifenow.org and use sponsor code “ottawacomm” or call the Ransom Memorial Hospital Lab at (785) 229-8323.
