Ottawa man injured in fatal I-70 wreck

MANHATTAN - An Ottawa man's car struck a disabled vehicle Sunday evening on I-70, causing the disabled vehicle to hit and kill a pedestrian who had exited the vehicle.
Randy Jost, 57, Ottawa, was traveling west about 8 p.m. Sunday on I-70 eight miles south of Manhattan, in Geary County, when his 1998 Ford Taurus hit the disabled car, which in turn struck and killed Colleen D. Williams, 35, Manhattan, according to a report by the Kansas Highway Patrol. The disabled car was in the lane of travel.
Jost was transported by Geary County Emergency Medical Services with injuries to Manhattan Mercy Hospital.
Williams was pronounced dead at the scene.
