Barker elected to state historical post

TOPEKA — An Ottawa history enthusiast and community supporter has been elected to serve again in the leadership of the Kansas Historical Society.

Deborah Barker, Franklin County Historical Society director, recently was tapped as president-elect of the organization during the Nov. 1 annual meeting of the Kansas Historical Foundation. She was elected vice president at last year’s meeting.

Deborah Barker, Franklin County Historical Society director, recently was tapped as president-elect of the organization during the Nov. 1 annual meeting of the Kansas Historical Foundation. She was elected vice president at last year’s meeting.

In addition, Barker was elected to the Board Class of 2016, alongside about 20 other class members.
