Woman thrown from mule, killed

LYNDON — A woman was killed when she was thrown from a mule about 6 p.m. Sunday in Osage County.

Two people were riding mules in the 2300 block of K-68 when one of the mules became spooked by a loud vehicle and bucked off its rider, according to a news release from the Osage County Sheriff’s Office. The fallen rider was pronounced dead at the scene, the release said.

The deceased woman was not from Osage County, but her identity had not been released Monday evening because her relatives had yet to be notified, sheriff’s officials said.

The sheriff’s office is continuing its investigation of the incident, the release said.
